What’s The Difference between Silk, Gloss or Matt paper?

Silk paper has a slight “sheen”, matt is uncoated and has a rough finish (like a standard office paper).

 The gloss has a full shiny coating.

Our Poster stock is 200gsm (ISO 536) and is 0.2mm thick (ISO 534).

What are Standard Poster Sizes?

Standard poster sizes are A2 to A0. If you are not sure about poster sizes read our paper size guide here. We also have a blog on poster sizes and what’s right for what use here.

Will my posters be ok outside?

For a while, yes, but they are not waterproof. If you are looking for waterproof posters that won’t fade in the sunlight have a look at our waterproof posters.

Are Your Posters easy to Hang?

A0 posters are printed onto thicker stock. Therefore, they will hang on a wall with either blu-tack or any other adhesives. Our posters can also be framed or you can buy hanging poster frames so that they can hang from the ceiling. If you want removable posters, please take a look at our removable poster range.

What standard of Quality Posters do you print?

The Printroom Group uses the latest HP Poster printers, they produce excellent graphics. The poster machines will print a photo quality as long as we have high-resolution files.

How Long will my Posters take to Arrive?

We print and deliver our supersized print the next working day as standard.

 

I need A0 Posters printing and I’m ready to order?

Start by choosing how many posters you need printing and then choose if you would like our Silk, Gloss or our Matt paper stock.

Once you have picked the quantity and finishing instructions simply add to the cart and then you can add your card details to our secure site.

Your super-sized print will be printed, trimmed, packed and delivered to you within two days as standard.

To produce the perfect printed graphics, we love a PDF file. However, if you don’t have a PDF file, send us a Word, Excel file, and we will send you back a PDF proof. If you want to convert your file to PDF yourself, click on our help page. We can print from either High-Resolution PDF files or JPEG files. Sending artwork

If you are sending artwork, you can do this in two ways: 1) upload during Order (for small files up to 10mb only) 2) Upload at Check out 3) uploading to our WeTransfer site Please use your name and order reference when sending files, so we can quickly reconcile against your order

PDF Files

High resolution (300dpi) files are the best for us to work with. Please see the settings below to get the best quality printing.
  • Resolution: Choose High Resolution
  • Compression Settings – For colour and greyscale this should be downsampled to 300dpi with “auto compression” set on high
  • Font Embedding – Should be set to “embed all fonts”
  • The Colour needs to be set as CMYK

Adobe Illustrator Software LogoAdobe Illustrator

Convert all text to outlines and embed all fonts. Save as a PDF file with 3mm bleed and crop marks.

The resolution should be set to 300dpi. Save the file as either JPEG or TIFF. Other files not listed above must be saved either as an EPS or JPEG.

Adobe InDesign Software LogoAdobe InDesign

All fonts and pictures used in your artwork need to be supplied to us in a separate folder using the “package” function under the “file” menu. Zip your files and folders before uploading or sending them to us via e-mail. Please also include a PDF. We can then use the PDF to make sure that nothing is missing or moved.

Artwork Bleed

  • Please supply a 3mm bleed around your artwork.
  • Please ensure that the colour is set to CMYK, not RGB.
  • Please provide crop marks around all your supplied artwork.

Microsoft Office Files

We cannot print straight from the following programmes. However, we can save a PDF file and re-send back to you for proofing.
  • Word
  • Excel
  • Publisher
  • PowerPoint
You can save your Microsoft Office files as a PDF yourself if you would prefer. That way you can see exactly what the printed file will look like. Please note: It is important when supplying a PDF from a Microsoft Office application, that extra care is taken to ensure any spot colours are created correctly in your original document/file. Please supply a screenshot of your Microsoft Office file before conversion. You can do this by following the instruction below for both Mac and PC. Mac: Press ‘Command’ + ‘Shift’ + 3 for a full screenshot, or ‘Command’ + ‘Shift’ + 4 to select an area to screenshot. This will save a PNG file to your desktop. PC: There is a key on your keyboard that says ‘Print Screen’. You can then paste this into a document or email to send over.

How Do You Print Your products?

We use the latest digital print equipment for certain jobs, like smaller run manuals, brochures, printed invitations and cards. For the larger run work like the 5000, 10,000 leaflets or longer print runs we will use Litho Print Machines. When we are printing our Large Format printing like exhibition banners, pull-up banners, and fabric banners we have a fully kitted out Large Format Department.
